The following is a diagram for a frequency programming adapter or cable for the Elpro E series radio telemetry and radio modem modules. This cable also offers speedy switching between radio and telemetry programming when using the Windows based configuration programs.

To select radio programming a voltage is placed on Pin 9 which switches all RS232 signals to the radio microprocessor. The speedy programming of the modules can be accomplished by pressing the pushbutton on the cable for programming the frequency and releasing for programming the mappings.

A design for such a adapter is shown alongside (the pushbutton and resistor are out of view). It allows a normal Com port extension cable to be used thus eliminating the need for a special cable which takes up valuable room in a laptop case.
